ONE-ON-ONE COACHING
All private sessions are tailored to each individual actor. One on one, you and I will work on your technique using scenes from the most current TV show’s, films and plays. I will teach you a very thorough and complete nuts-and-bolts method of acting one solid step at a time, not a philosophy! You will be learning a script analysis system that will help you to access your emotions and give you a way to not just feel them, but to use them with dimension and power. I will teach you this by using exercises and drills with your scenes that will enable you to totally comprehend and completely own the tools of this method of Acting.
The point of this coaching is to insure you have stand-out auditions, and be able to deliver dynamic professional work on set. So in all our sessions we will beconstantly mocking-up different auditions and on-set situations, not just discussing them, but living them! So when they happen in real life you wont think twice, you’ll just immediately apply what we we’ve drilled in our sessions, and nail it! Anddue to the focus and intensity of the one on one coaching, your growth and learning retention will be accelerated far beyond any group class environment where personal attention is very limited.
As a coach I receive no greater satisfaction than when I’m coaching an actor and the light of understanding turns on in their eyes. They know they’ve found the character in themselves. The confusion and doubt are gone. Replaced instead with confidence and passion. That passion and confidence, coupled with a great performance is completely irresistible to casting directors, and directors. Its what books jobs consistently and makes stars! AUDITION COACHING
SCENE BREAKDOWN
Originality is key! Ask any casting director: ninety percent of actors auditioning for a role, read the part the same way, and fall into the same traps. For the most part the casting directors don’t even tell you that you fell in and just say “thank you”, but together, you and I will find the strong, unique choices that will grab their attention and immediately separate you from the pack.
THE CAMERA
Ninety-five percent of the time, you will be put on tape at the audition. How you use that camera is vital, because your tape will be viewed later by the producer’s and executives who weren’t in the room. Your camera technique can make or break you! I will give you simple technical adjustments that will allow your scenes to translate well for tape in spite of the awkward limitations of the audition room.
ATTITUDE
To me the attitude, and energy you project in the audition room is everything! The majority of actors auditioning are stiff, nervous and full of fear, but a truly confident and passionate actor is a rarity and a true magnet. We will get you to the meeting feeling inspired, enthusiastic, and excited to audition. That automatically places you in the top ten percent of the competition coming out of the gate.
THE GOAL
The goal is to win the room and make them your fans. Together we will either book you the job, get you an offer for a different role or get you invited back to audition for another project.
BUSINESS / CAREER
I believe the business aspect of Acting goes hand in hand with the technique coaching. How do I get my foot in the door or back in the door? This is for those of you who are new to the business and are feeling overwhelmed and confused, and for those who have been around for a while and are feeling stuck. As an actor I understand. I’ve been in both positions. When I was new to the business I literally wasted years by studying with incompetent coaches that actually harmed my natural acting abilities, and by having agents and managers who were destructive to me personally as an artist, and to my career. This happened simply because I didn’t know better. I had no guidance, nobody of experience to tell me the truth. So, I will be constantly sharing the career methods that worked for me. The steps I took, what worked and what didn’t. Having done this for years I’ve pretty much experienced all aspects of this business. Together we will figure out what your goals are in the business and the best way to achieve them. Whatever you need to get to the next level.
